Bayswater is an area of west London in the City of Westminster. It is a built-up district located 3 miles (4.8 km) west north-west of Charing Cross and borders the north of Hyde Park over Kensington Gardens.

Bayswater is one of the most multicultural districts of London, housing within its bounds large communities of Arabs, Americans and Greeks, the area is also a centre of London's Brazilian community and a substantial local population. It has a population density of 17,500 people per square kilometre.

Architecturally, the majority of the area is made up of Georgian stucco terraces and garden squares, divided up into various flats. The property ranges from very expensive apartments to small studio flats.

A few steps across Bayswater Road lead to the green acres of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, where there is a wonderful activity area for younger members of the family: kiddies love scrambling round the huge wooden pirate ship and its surrounding beach in Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground, which also contains tepees and play sculptures.

Nearest underground stations: Bayswater and Queensway for the western side, or Paddington and Lancaster Gate for the eastern side.

Attractions in London Bayswater: Bayswater is close to shopping on Oxford Street, Mayfair, Kensington, bond street and saville row, trendy Notting Hill is nearby, as are the Portobello Road Market, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and Marble Arch. The queensway district, with its late-night shopping, cosmopolitan restaurants and the famous whiteleys shopping center is within walking distance and all of london's attractions are within easy reach.
